FOUNDING SUPPORTER BRIEF
Build the first credible step
University of Jasper seeks support to turn a distinct educational idea into a responsibly delivered program in Jasper, Alberta. Begin with a defined Feasibility and Host Review; its budget is to be quoted before any funding agreement.
The educational proposition
Strong in body. Free in mind. Unite coached physical practice, world humanities and fundamental inquiry. Use Jasper’s landscape to ask questions, then make calculations, arguments and useful work accountable to evidence.
The first proposed program
Six weeks in Jasper for 6–8 adults aged 18+. 144 facilitated hours and 24 independent-study hours; three proposed camping nights. Phones and live AI are off during teaching and camps, with private access and essential-contact exceptions. Winter break: mid-December to mid-February. An optional three-hour AI Return Lab follows separately.
What the first review must produce
Named accountable operator and local host; verified educator interest; current name, legal and permit determinations; dated venue, staffing and insurance quotes; a realistic budget and funding conditions; a written go/no-go recommendation. Each item needs an owner, evidence and review date.
The long-term founding ambition
Five proposed C$2 million commitments toward C$10 million. An anchor family or foundation is an alternative route. No commitment is confirmed. The long-term capital ambition is separate from the first program’s budget.
University of Jasper is a founding project in Jasper, Alberta, Canada. Its first proposed program is non-degree. No degree-granting authority or current institutional approval is claimed. A venue, teaching appointments, funding and launch dates remain unconfirmed.
FOUNDING SUPPORTER BRIEF / DECISION AND STEWARDSHIP
Support evidence Then scale
What exists today
A public website, English founding charter, academic curriculum, staff operations framework, paper fieldbook and local inquiry-draft tools. These make the proposal reviewable; they do not establish a staffed campus or demonstrated learner outcomes.
The first budget and agreement
Budget: to be quoted. Identify cash and in-kind support separately, a lawful recipient, deliverables, reporting dates, decision authority, conditions for release and unused-fund or cancellation terms. Obtain independent advice before binding commitments. No donation tax receipt or investment return is promised.
The Founding Five
The Founding Five is Vincent Zhang’s proposal for five founding positions at C$2 million each, toward a C$10 million ambition. His intended model includes lifetime board voting rights. These rights are not established. The legal structure, governing documents, appointment, election, removal and voting rules require independent legal review. No contribution currently purchases or guarantees a directorship or vote.
A disciplined sequence
Feasibility and Host Review; separately scoped Jasper introductory event if approved and funded; six-week field semester; review of consented learner work and actual costs; repeatable delivery; larger institutional support. Property commitments follow verified need and capacity.
